Description
Durand-Wayland, Inc. is seeking a driven and knowledgeable Field Service Manager to support our growing technical team. This role requires a focused, service minded manager who aligns with our client’s values, listens to their specific needs, and strives to exceed expectations. The goal is to keep customers happy and machines in motion.
About the Role: This is an opportunity to lead and mentor electromechanical technicians by supporting a growing team and their continued development. You will play a key role in supporting, building, and maintaining accounts. We seek someone knowledgeable in the agriculture industry who will integrate seamlessly with our technical team to provide the highest level of customer service and support to all our existing and future customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor electromechanical technicians, supporting their growth and development
- Customer Support: Play a key role in supporting, building, and maintaining accounts, ensuring the highest level of customer service.
- Field Service Management: Schedule, train, manage, and work with field service personnel performing on-site services including installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Project Management: Plan, estimate, implement, and manage field installations, system and equipment upgrades, warranty claims, preventative maintenance, and contracts/visits/training.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical support to the sales team, including parts and install implementation planning, warranty assistance, replacement part identification, and customer application assistance.
- Third-Party Coordination: Select and manage on-site crews, including third-party contractors, for various projects.

Essential Functions:
- Plan, estimate, implement, and manage field installations
- Manage system and equipment upgrades
- Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, switches, sensors, motors, etc.
- Maintain electrical equipment to meet NEC and local codes.
- Design, program, analyze and repair electrical drives and control units including configuring PLC motor controls and electrical protection.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve equipment performance and operations.
- Assist customers and technicians in identifying and resolving problems.
- Manage third-party contractors
- Provide technical support to the sales team
- Perform duties in various environments, including company offices, warehouses, and customer sites, under different conditions (wet, dry, dusty, hot, cold).
- Proficient in testing electrical systems using testing tools such as ohmmeters and voltmeters.
- Ability to provide onsite and remote based support.
- Work independently and as part of a team, managing and recording time and expenses.
- Organize and maintain project documentation and drawing modifications
- Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Qualifications
- Four years of journey level electrical experience or completion of an approved technical training program in electrical repair and maintenance and two years electrical experience or any equivalent combination of experience and or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
- Thorough knowledge of 3-phase and low voltage circuits and controls
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent people management, leadership, time management and organization skills
- Proficient in problem identification, solving and solution development.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and AutoCAD
- Ability to read machine prints and plant layout drawings and electrical schematics.
- Ability to work under stressful work conditions.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Multi‐tasking ability with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Flexible attitude
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background, drug and work screen.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
